About the event
At members’ request, we are delighted to be able to offer TSNS members a workshop on crime prevention and staying safe in our neighbourhoods. This workshop will be held on Tuesday 24 August from 12 to 2pm with a light lunch provided at 4 Wither Road in Blenheim. It will be presented by Senior Constable Russ Smith, using the “Be Safe, Feel Safe” information from NZ Police.
Russ will bring a Dremel electric engraver with him to engrave your valuables eg tools, with your driver’s licence number. You are invited to bring your items along with you to be engraved on the day, or to make an appointment with Russ for some future mutually convenient date and time. He will also talk about www.snap.org.nz, a NZ Police supported website that allows people to create and store an asset list of property serial numbers and images of items in the event of loss, theft or burglary. It can assist the police, improve outcomes for insurance claims and improve the chances of your property being identified and returned to you.
Brent Laurenson from Community Patrol will also be attending to talk about what they do and how they support the work of our local police. Registrations are essential, by emailing charlotte@tsns.org.nz. Please note, this workshop will only go ahead with sufficient confirmed numbers attending.
